Evil Emperor Zurg strikes again!

Last year right after Halloween and his birthday in November, little man asked if he could have a Zurg party for his 5th birthday.  We've been waiting and waiting to see if he changes his mind, but he's still set on a Zurg party.  I've been buying things here and there, for said party.  I'm thinking purple and black, with yellow and red accents for the colors; purple being the dominant color.  I found some purple paper bags and purple balloon string at Michael's on clearance.  

I'm working on some Zurg emblems for decorations.  I got some red balloon cutouts from the dollar tree that I turned into circles.  I plan on gluing them to gray circles and then making the yellow z that goes on top. These would be cute on the goody bags or for the kids to wear as nametags.  I had hoped to find some large circles (like 20 inch) to do the same with, but I haven't had luck.  A few years ago, my husband ordered wheels and tires for his car, and they came with cardboard circles between each one to keep them from scratching.  I had him order some new tires (that he needed anyway) but they didn't come with the circles!  Darn!  I guess since he didn't order wheels, they left the circles out.  Cake circles are my next option. 

I want to make some Zurg masks for the kids to wear, and I'm not sure what to put in the goody bag.  I don't like to put things in a goody bag that I wouldn't want my own kid to have, so this is a part I always struggle with.  

I have a friend who's working on becoming a party planner.  She has amazing talent for decorating and coming up with a well put together party!  She helped me out last year with a race car party, and it was great!  I'll post pictures of that later.  There's lots of ideas out there on birthday parties. We did a Google search for "race car party" and looked through the images that came up as well as this site http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/racing.html.

I might search toy story party to come up with stuff for this year.  I'm thinking purple plates; purple and black napkins; black cups.  One great thing is that it'll be in November, right after Halloween, and the black stuff is on clearance.  I'm hoping that he really sticks with this Zurg idea as I start to gather my thoughts!
